Stranch, Jennings & Garvey (SJ&G), PLLC, attorney Colleen Garvey has been named to the 2023 Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers® Class Action/Mass Torts Rising Stars list and the 2023 National Trial Lawyers (NTL) Civil Plaintiff Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers in the state of Missouri.
Super Lawyers rates attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Rising Stars are attorneys under the age of 40 or who have been practicing law for less than 10 years, and who have been recognized by Super Lawyers as up-and-coming talent in their areas of practice. This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators, including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.
The annual Rising Stars list is limited to a small number of attorneys in each state. As one of the few attorneys to garner the distinction of Rising Stars, Garvey has earned the respect of her peers as one of the top-rated attorneys in the nation.
The NTL 40 Under 40 honor is only given to the top 40 under 40 attorneys for their superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as young criminal defense and civil plaintiff lawyers. Membership into The National Trial Lawyers 40 Under 40 provides recognition to these distinguished attorneys, and provides essential legal news, information and continuing education to trial lawyers across the United States.
Membership is by invitation only. To be eligible, attorneys must demonstrate superior trial results and qualifications of leadership, reputation and influence. Selection to the Top 40 Under 40 is based on a rigorous multi-phase objective process, including peer nominations and third-party research.
“It’s a tremendous honor to have been named to both of these highly respected lists,” Garvey said. “I’m grateful to have been recognized by my peers for my work to advocate for those who have experienced injustice or harm. I look forward to continuing success on behalf of our clients, and working alongside my fellow attorneys at our St. Louis office.”
A 2020 graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Law, Garvey joined SJ&G in 2022 after previously working at a top St. Louis insurance defense firm. She focuses her practice in the areas of class action and complex litigation, general civil litigation, mass torts and personal injury.
Garvey’s father, Hon. John (Jack) Garvey, leads SJ&G’s St. Louis office.
