David T. Shepherd

Associate Attorney

David (Davey) Shepherd is proud to bring to Stranch, Jennings & Garvey a career dedicated to serving vulnerable individuals and families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Before joining SJ&G in 2026, Mr. Shepherd began his legal career at a litigation firm, where he handled a variety of matters, including insurance defense, commercial construction disputes and general commercial litigation. His diverse professional background equips him with a unique perspective and deep appreciation for the real-world challenges his clients face. 

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Shepherd spent more than a decade leading and developing nonprofit programs focused on helping those facing significant hardship, including advanced heart failure patients and their families, as well as individuals reentering society after incarceration. Through this work, he gained firsthand experience advocating for people in need, building community partnerships, and creating programs that delivered meaningful support and lasting impact.

Mr. Shepherd graduated from the University of Valley Forge in 2010 with a B.A. in Religion. He earned his J.D. in 2025 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While at Loyola, he participated in Moot Court, Consumer Law Review and student government while also tutoring students in multiple classes.

Mr. Shepherd lives in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, with his wife, Gabby, and their son, Roman. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, along with cheering on the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Soccer Club.
